Summary: | 2-Substituted-3,1-benzoxazin-(4H)-ones (2a-e) are obtained from the reaction of 4-arylidene-2-phenyl-5(4H)-oxazolones (1a-e). Aminolysis of 2a with primary amines gave the corresponding 2-substituted-N-substituted benzamides (3a-b) and the quinazolones 4(a-f), with secondary amines gave 5(a-b). Compound 2b condensed with hydrazines, hydroxylamine and thiosemicarbazide and yielded anthranilic acid hydrazides (6a-c), quinazolinone derivatives 7a-b and 8, and the thiotriazoloquinazolone derivative 9 respectively. Also the reaction of 2b with sodium azide has been described. Ammonolysis of 2b furnished the corresponding 2-substituted 4(3H)-quinazolinone 11. |
