Preparation and coordination chemistry of Ph2P(CH2)(n)(NHPPr2)-Pr-i (n=2, 3)

Unsymmetrical diphosphine ligands of the type Ph2P(CH2)(n)NHPPr2i [n = 2 (1), 3 (2)] have been obtained by reacting the appropriate (diphenylphosphino)alkylamine, Ph2P(CH2)(n)NH2 with chlorodi-iso-propylphosphine, in the presence of triethylamine. Reaction of Ph2P(CH2)(2)NHPPr2i with PdCl2(PhCN)(2),...

Summary:Unsymmetrical diphosphine ligands of the type Ph2P(CH2)(n)NHPPr2i [n = 2 (1), 3 (2)] have been obtained by reacting the appropriate (diphenylphosphino)alkylamine, Ph2P(CH2)(n)NH2 with chlorodi-iso-propylphosphine, in the presence of triethylamine. Reaction of Ph2P(CH2)(2)NHPPr2i with PdCl2(PhCN)(2), PtCl2(PhCN)(2), PtMe2(cod) and PtClMe(cod), NiCl2.6H(2)O and Fe(CO)(2)(eta(5)-C5H5)I gives the corresponding chelate complexes, PdCl2L, PtX2L, NiCl2L and Fe(CO)(eta(5)-C5H5)L. Reaction of Ph2P(CH2)(3)NHPPr2i with PtCl2(PhCN)(2), PtMe2(cod) and PdCl2(PhCN)(2) yields the chelate complexes and reaction with PtClMe(cod) led to a 50:50 mixture of chelate isomers.
