Summary:The purpose of this work is to show that global sensitivity analysis combined with a process simulator can be used as a method of identifying process bottlenecks in the papermaking context. A variancedecomposition based Sobol' analysis is employed in three case studies with Aprosr Paper simulator. The results give evidence that the method is applicable in detecting process bottlenecks and can thus provide the process designer with useful information.
