Summary:A refrigerated merchandiser includes an upright, open-front, insulated cabinet defining a product display area connected in airflow communication with a compartment via an air circulation circuit. A high pressure drop evaporator and a plurality of closely spaced fans are disposed within compartment. The evaporator is provided with a relatively high fin density heat exchanger coil providing a relatively high air side pressure drop through the evaporator. The increased flow resistance through the evaporator coupled with the plurality of closely spaced fans results in a substantially uniform evaporator outlet temperature profile across the length of the evaporator.
