| Summary: | A carrying roller for a card reader including: a rubber outer peripheral member, which is roughly cylindrical, and forms the outer peripheral side of the carrying roller; and a retention member, which has an outer peripheral surface that abuts the inner peripheral surface of the outer peripheral member and retains the outer peripheral member on the inner peripheral side of the outer peripheral member. The inner peripheral surface of the outer peripheral member has a plurality of protuberances that protrude inward in the radial direction. The outer peripheral surface of the retaining member has a plurality of grooves recessed in the radial direction and engaging with the projections. The height of the projections in the radial direction is no more than 1/3.5 of the radial thickness of the outer peripheral member in sections without projections. |
