Summary:1. Field of the Invention A discharge is initiated in a cell in which an address discharge is conducted at a first timing Tin a charge adjustment period. Thus, some negative charges are formed in an X electrode and a Y electrode, thus preventing a false discharge from occurring in an unselected cell.
