Summary:The invention relates to MR imaging, and more particularly relates to MR imaging of the heart. In its most immediate sense, the invention relates to MR cine images of the heart such as are used to assess cardiac function and anatomy. A segmented cine MR pulse sequence of the "TrueFISP"-type having a short repetition time TR is used to acquire MR data during a single breath hold. In the resulting cine images, the blood and the myocardium have distinctly different image contrasts.
