| Summary: | An image forming apparatus of the type sequentially forming toner images of different colors on an image carrier while sequentially transferring them to an intermediate transfer body one above the other, and then transferring the resulting composite toner image from the intermediate transfer body to a paper or similar recording medium. Dot toner images different from desired toner images are formed on the image carrier. The dot toner images are transferred from the image carrier to the intermediate transfer body and then to the recording medium. The individual toner images are transferred from the image carrier to the intermediate transfer body in accurate register with each other. |
