Summary:Breast cancer metastasis to the gastrointestinal tract is rare and occurring more often in patients with invasive lobular cancer. It is important to differentiate a primary gastrointestinal tract tumor from metastasis form. We report a case of breast lobular cancer metastasis to the stomach in a 67 old woman who had nonpalpable lesions of left breast. The pathological diagnosis confirmation was obtained through endoscopic biopsies and comparision to stereotactic core breast biopsy material. Imunohistochemical analysis of the surgical specimen helped to establish that the gastric lesion thought to be primary was a metastatic breast neoplasm. The cells expressed high levels of estrogen and progesterone receptors. The patient is sustained only on hormonal therapy because of associated bone metastasis and she is in good condition.
