Evidence ­suggests that the earlier and more accurate the diagnosis, coupled with early intervention, the better the outcome (Martin, 2007; Thompson, 1997). This chapter offers general guiding principles regarding treating children with NVLD. In Chapter 10, we will apply those principles to both schools and home.
