Summary: | Implantable defibrillators (ICD) are implanted in patients with congenital or acquired heart diseases with significantly elevated risk for arrhythmogenic cardiac death. The typical profile of these patients ranges from young (competitive) athletes to morbid older patients. European guidelines allow low dynamic and low static physical activity like cricket, golf or yoga. Discussion about individualized or general recommendations for sports activities with an ICD is the main focus of this article. |
