Summary: | "I can't afford for the employees to pick and choose when they're gonna take their vacation," [Pierre Bader] said. "We have a restaurant to run." "I don't miss the lost revenue much because it's the slowest week of the year," said Sonoma's Bader. Besides, Bader said the peace of mind he gains is well worth the revenue he loses. "You know that the restaurant is closed. There's no phone calls, there's no problems, there's nothing to solve," he said. For employees, a company-wide vacation isn't always ideal. Forcing employees to take their vacation at a specified time means that it's less likely they'll have vacation available when they really want it -- to attend a family celebration or a school reunion, for example. |
