Summary:Events to mark the center's decade of existence, ranging from a visit by the governor's wife to free fingerprinting for children by the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office were held yesterday in the pale pink waiting room of the center's Cookman Avenue office. The federally qualified community health center sees more than 5,000 people a year, a third of whom do not have health insurance, said Eileen Toughill, executive director of the center which affiliated with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central New Jersey. Toughill said she wants more people to know about and use the center, which provides health screenings, immunizations and vaccinations, mental health and nutrition services, and general care. Fees are set on a sliding scale, but do not exceed $40, she said.
