Summary: | The bill [Joe Manchin] introduced did not have that hammer. [Bob Kiss], D- Raleigh, and other House leaders added it to the bill, but Sens. Billy Wayne Bailey, D-Wyoming, and Don Caruth, R-Mercer, introduced an amendment that removed it once again. Last year, the Legislature passed a bill and a resolution that gave the hammer to the Pharmaceutical Council, Kiss said. So even though the pharmaceutical advocate wasn't given the hammer, the Pharmaceutical Council still has one. Now attention shifts to Manchin, said House Health and Human Resources Chairman Don Perdue, D-Wayne. More than half of the members of the Pharmaceutical Council are Manchin administration officials. |
