Summary:According to Jack Pitts, who owns Southeastern Energy, a gasoline wholesale and retailer company based in Montgomery, Hurricane Rita definitely will affect the oil market, particularly because some oil refineries already have been shut down anticipating [Rita]'s arrival. Attorney General Troy King and Gov. Bob Riley warned gas companies of price gouging in the wake of Hurricane Rita, expected to impact refineries in the Houston area.
