Summary:[Paul Tracy] finished the 81-lap race in a time of 1:44:12.348, 5.681 seconds ahead of the 2003 series runner-up Bruno Junqueira and 6.375 seconds in front of Junqueira's teammate Sebastien Bourdais. "I got a big run on Bruno and I was coming up on him hard and he was staying pretty close to the wall so I thought, OK, I'm going to go down on the inside. It is dirty there so when I pulled out the car jumped sideways on me and I had it braking kinda across the track and then it straightened up into the corner. Bruno might refer to it as a `banzai move' but I call it a good pass - it's how I drive," Tracy said. Under Champ Car's new points system, the victory gives Tracy the lead in the drivers' standings with 32 points, followed by Junqueira with 29 followed by Bourdais with 27.
