Summary: | "It means that they're not going to (be limited to a) 50,000- square-foot store. We will repeal that ordinance when we know the size of the store they're bringing. We don't have problems accommodating Wal-Mart," [Nieves Riedel] said. If Wal-Mart comes to be, Arnie Caballero said his family will be very happy. His family lives in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son., and now drives to the Wal-Mart on Avenue B in Yuma to shop. City Attorney Glen Gimbut said that the proposed Wal-Mart has the same proximity to the border as theWal-Mart in Nogales, Ariz. That Wal-Mart, he said, is one of the highest grossing retail stores in the world. Gimbut said that the proposed Wal-Mart would most likely have a similar success because the demographics of Nogales, Ariz., and Nogales, Mexico, are similar to that of San Luis, Ariz., and San Luis Rio Colorado, Son. |
