"We talked about it off and on for several weeks now, and we decided after thinking about the race and the rigors of the campaign that we didn't want to do it again," McHale said of discussions with his wife, Barbara, about his political future. "In my thinking about getting into the campaign, it really wasn't to help anybody but me," he said. "I wasn't thinking about Dorothy or any other candidates."
