To achieve this goal, Toshiba has created a new low-power, high-contrast VGA gas plasma display. Its first application is in the firm's T3100SX battery-powered portable. Traditionally, there have been two alternatives in displays for portable computers, each with its own advantages and drawbacks. The familiar LCD delivers the low power consumption desirable for battery-powered portables, with some sacrifices in display quality.
