Summary: | AW Computer Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:AWCSA) Tuesday announced that it has signed a $470,000 contract with IBM Belgium to integrate NCR cash registers now being used by a major Belgian hypermarket chain into the IBM 4680 Store Point of Sale system. In addition to interfacing the NCR terminals to the system, AW will design a custom hardware interface to handle the new Common Market Electronic Funds Transfer Personal Identification Number pads and protocol. "This project places AW in the middle of an exciting new market," said Nicholas Ambrus, chairman of AW in making the announcement. "AW will be well positioned to benefit from the need for new systems which will develop as the Common Market opens up in the 1990's," he concluded. (excerpt) |
