Summary:Clinical Data Inc. (NASDAQ:CLDA) announced today that its Australian subsidiary, Clinical Data (Aust) Pty. Ltd., has entered into an agreement with Merck Pty. Limited of Kilsyth/Melbourne, Australia, for the exclusive distribution in Australia and the South Pacific of clinical chemistry instruments and diagnostic reagents designed for the medical and veterinary laboratory market. Under the terms of the agreement, Clinical Data (Aust) Pty. Ltd. shall market diagnostic reagents produced by E. Merck of Darmstadt, Germany, and clinical chemistry analyzers manufactured by Vital Scientific NV, Clinical Data's Dutch subsidiary. Operating from a base in Sydney, sales and service personnel will be employed to expand E.
