Summary: | ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 1999--3M, the company that revolutionized short, informal communication in the office with the Post-it(R) Note, has introduced Post-it(R) Software Notes - Office Edition 2.0, a new version of its electronic software that will enable users to send notes across a local area network. This new version of Post-it(R) Software Notes has enhanced features that allow computer users to share Memoboards, personalize notes with logos and special fonts, and send notes to other computer users where they grab attention by "popping up" directly on the desktop. "In this fast-paced business environment, information is everything and office workers are spending more time than ever managing their work electronically. Our customers have told us they need easy-to-use organization and communication tools that help them manage their workloads and communicate more effectively, " said Andy Feld, Post-it(R) Products marketing manager. "This new generation of Post-it(R) Software Notes transforms the Post-it(R) Note from a personal information manager to a communication tool that helps office workers make important "connections" with colleagues." Just like the original version of Post-it(R) Software Notes, the new Office Edition 2.0 has an electronic dispenser of Post-it(R) Notes that sits on top of the Windows desktop or in the System Tray of the Microsoft(TM) Windows(R) Taskbar. A dispenser is always accessible, regardless of the application the user is working in. A click on the note pad dispenser creates a note that can be left on the desktop or "stuck" onto customized Memoboards. Notes can be organized by subject and can be cascaded on the computer screen by date and time for easy prioritizing. Notes can also be embedded into basic office word processing documents such as Word or Excel and sent over e-mail. |
