Summary:Colt Feltes was named the IIAC MVP of the field events and head coach Marcus Newsom was named coach of the year as the seventh-ranked Wartburg men’s outdoor track and field team took home their third straight Iowa Conference championship and eighth overall Saturday at Carlson Stadium in Decorah. Bonthius was the sole first-place event winner, but six other individual and relay events earned all conference, by placing in the top three. Newsom was pleased with the all-around performance on the track including sprints, short sprints, long sprints, middle distance and distance. Dallas Koppes (400), Ryan Hermsen (1,500), Bennet Moser (5,000), Jacoby Firkins (110 hurdles), Brandon Steggall (400 hurdles) and the 4×400 meter relay team made the podium (top three) in their respective events. The Knights now turn their attention to the NCAA Championships, which will take place May 22-24 in Delaware, Ohio.
