Summary:Social media is predicted to have a particularly significant impact on the ecommerce sector. In a roundtable-style interview, industry experts discuss opportunities in social commerce. The impact of social media on ecommerce has been vast. As a retail destination, we recognise the importance of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. We understand that when retailers don't have an official presence, the community will usually create their own page or feed. It's vital that retailers try to manage their social identity to protect their brand. The challenge now is for retailers to monetise their social media presence, which has led to a plethora of stores cropping up on Facebook. What's exciting is being able to merge an online presence with aggregated social media data to understand more about customers and offer them a more personalised shopping experience, whether they visit your website, use an app or a Facebook store.
