Summary: | An obituary for Don Sarles, a member of the American Musical Instrument Society who died in 2021, is presented. Sarles was born in Laurel, MD, in 1939. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in electrical engineering, and he served in the Navy from 1964 to 1967 as electrical officer on the USS Fort Snelling. Later, he worked for the engineering firm of Syska and Hennessey and then worked until retirement for the Architect of the Capitol in Washington, DC. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bryant. |
