Summary: | An interview with Chris Crane, outgoing EEI chairman and president and CEO of Exelon Corporation is presented. Crane said that our workers-both at Exelon and throughout the industry-have, quite simply, kept the lights on and the natural gas flowing throughout the pandemic. That is what they do, and I am so proud to be associated with them. Our companies plan and drill for disaster response on a routine basis. Although this pandemic is not like anything we've ever seen before, we moved smoothly into crisis response. Despite very real constraints in how we can currently work, Exelon's six electric and gas companies and our generating plants have maintained very high reliability and customer satisfaction. We have successfully confronted major cybersecurity and supply chain challenges. EEI's Workforce Development Initiative made real progress in building a pipeline of qualified men and women to serve our customers and communities. We started by engaging member companies on sharing best practices, benchmarking, and extensive research. |
