Summary: | Twinhead Corp.'s SlimNote SLEX2 is reviewed. Loaded with either a 233MHz or 266MHz processor and 32 Mbytes of RAM, 512-Kbyte Level 2 cache, a 13.3-inch TFT active-matrix display, 16-bit Sound Blaster Pro-compatible sound system, 2 PC Card slots, an integrated 20X CD-ROM, and a 2.1- to 4-Gbyte hard drive, there is not much lacking. The machine supports a wide array of ports, including USB, infrared, TV-out, audio, and standard ports like ECP/EPP parallel. A slightly larger footprint makes room for the screen, which provides good contrast even at wide viewing angles. |
