Summary:CCA is in the process of issuing a new version of the CCA standard subcontract form. This new version attempts to provide in one combined form both a stand-alone version, similar to the current CCA L-1 subcontract form, and a "flow-down" version, similar to the current CCA S-1 subcontract form. As part of the overall endorsement process, the final draft will be circulated not only to our board, council and committee members, but to our member associations as well. We hope this will produce a subcontract form that will enjoy wider use in the construction industry. A new construction waste management guide is also ready for endorsement. Due to growing public and political concern over waste management issues, this guide is being created to help ensure sound practices are applied while at the same time maintaining an efficient and cost-conscious worksite. This document, entitled Solid Waste Reduction Best Practice Guide, was developed by a joint industry-Government of Canada working group, and will also be circulated to CCA member associations for feedback.
