Summary: | Entrepreneurs are the engine of any economy. They create products and services that meet their needs. They often build entire industries from nothing and create jobs that lift people from the depths of poverty into the middle class and beyond. Efforts to spur entrepreneurship in this country clearly have had some positive impact. Indeed, our nation almost leads the world in entrepreneurial activity, trailing only the US, according to a 2015 ranking (at the time, about 13% of the working-age population was involved in start-up ventures, according to the Centre for Innovation Studies.) |
