Summary: | Bullie's House, by Schindler's List author Thomas Keneally, the true story of Australian Aboriginals who permitted white Australians to see their sacred secrets of the world-in hopes the white world would offer up its own wisdom and technology in return; Tonight We Fly, the Trestle Theatre Company telling of Marc Chagall's life using masks, texts, puppetry and live Klezmer music; and Russian company Devero's nautical comedy Islands in the Stream, which will allow audiences to escape beneath the waves. Taking place in Miami, Coral Gables, Miami Beach, Homestead, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, the International Hispanic Theatre Festival welcomes Hispanic and Hispanic-flavored productions from all over the world. A Christmas tale told in summer, Joanna Lauren's new play, Five Gold Rings, may burn hotter than the Yule-log: this family drama is about two married brothers with opposing sexual needs and their father's long-held denial concerning the wife who left him. |
