Summary: | Parker Hannifin, a US-headquartered company, manufactures motion and control technologies and systems and turns over $6bn annually. Under the terms of its lean initiative it needed to run kaizen workshops which should be led by an external sensi. By September Pera Integrated Training will have delivered five kaizen-related events for Parker Hannifin's filtration division in the UK; it has also been involved in a comparable initiative for the same division in Arnhem in the Netherlands. Pera's resident sensi Nick Davis helped Parker Hannifin investigate the value stream map for the product to find areas of waste, and it tackled those within the event. As a result of the program, Parker Hannifin has ambitious targets for reductions in inventory and for improvements in productivity. |
