Summary:Supply chain optimization is one of the newest areas of software for business management. SCO quickly became the fastest-growing area of management software. Supply chain management and advanced planning and scheduling are components of SCO. Once all assets and resources are in place, SCO technology helps create strategic and tactical plans that balance their use for superior big-picture results. APS and SCM systems then help make sure those plans are effectively scheduled and implemented. SCO involves 5 types of activities: 1. planning, 2. scheduling, 3. executing, 4. tracking, and 5. adjusting. Linear programming is the most widely used optimization technology.
