Summary:The IRS on Sep 10, 2018, announced the identification and selection of five Large Business and International (LB&) compliance campaigns. These new campaigns -- which are in addition to the 35 campaigns announced in 2017 and earlier in 2018 -- complement LB&I's efforts in moving toward issue-based examinations. The announcement listed the five additional campaigns, along with the respective LB&I Practice Area with jurisdiction over each campaign and a brief description of each campaign's issue focus. In September 2015, LB&I announced that it would reorganize around nine "Practice Areas," five of which represent specific subject matters: Pass-Through Entities; Enterprise Activities; Cross-Border Activities; Withholding and International Individual Compliance; and Treaty and Transfer Pricing Operations.
