Summary: | Companies which are looking to expand or diversify operations outside their home country will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the various possible locations open to them. The following issues are likely to be given priority: 1. stability, 2. communications, 3. market place, 4. labor, 5. commercial opportunities, 6. culture and legal system, and 7. investment and tax regimes. No general permission is required to conduct business in the UK. There are certain filing requirements which have to be met, the nature of which depends upon how the UK activity is to be set up. The basic principle is that an overseas company should make every effort to recruit staff from the UK or EU labor market. |
