Summary: | An increasingly popular concept used as a tool for developing managers in such areas as decision making and communication focuses on the elements of an individual's problem-solving style. The Briggs-Myers Type Indicator was developed to measure an individual's problem-solving style. People perceive data either through the process of sensing through the 5 senses or through intuition. Managers evaluate data either by thinking decisions through, whereby they use a logical, rational reasoning process to arrive at a conclusion, or by feeling, whereby they use innate processes that rely on human values and beliefs. Decision-making and problem-solving styles fall into one of 4 categories: 1. sensing-feeling, 2. sensing-thinking, 3. intuitive-thinking, and 4. intuitive-feeling. |
