Summary:When the phone rang, Pat Fragale was sitting in his office, trying to drum up business for the recently opened Ramada Renaissance Hotel in East Brunswick. To his utter surprise and amazement, it was Disney World on the line. "They had read about us in a hotel trade magazine," relates Fragale, the general manager of the 15-story, 405-room facility. Disney was seeking a hotel with banquet facilities to launch its new Disney/MGM Studios Theme Park in Orlando. Part of the drawing card was the hotel's 15,000 square-foot ballroom, the largest of its kind outside of Atlantic City. "After a site inspection, we closed the deal to the tune of $25,000." (excerpt)
