Three years ago, for example, [Manitoba grain farmer] Andy McMechan was also convicted for testing the CWB Act to establish a right: the right of private property. Andy spent three months in jail before and during his trial. His sentence was six months in jail, a $20,000 fine, and an order to pay $55,693 in 'compensation' to the CWB.
