Summary: | In individuals with seizure disorders, some of the medications lower the seizure threshold so must be prescribed with caution, adds the Medical Director of the Gracepoint Mental Health Care Centre in Florida. Besides psychiatrists, a range of professionals are required: crisis intervention personnel, care managers, case managers, nursing staff, therapists and social workers. Many patients with schizophrenia tend to self-isolate and become withdrawn so therefore psycho-social therapy -attending a day treatment programme where they meet people, engage in group discussions and participate in other activities - is also useful. |
