Summary:The SME Student Chapter at the Indian School of Mines (ISM), in association with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists-ISM Dhanbad, recently took part in a webinar with Dr. Abani R. Samal, principal with Geoglobal and adjunct professor in the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Utah, More than 70 students from ISM's Department of Mining Engineering and the Department of Applied Geology and Mineral Engineering attended the webinar. The April webinar discussed several topics: the basic conceptual definition of minerals; the difference between a reserve and a resource; diamond drilling and ore handling.
