Summary:Beck discusses Air Mobility Command's (AMC) Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) program which has made significant progress toward validating yet another integral arm of the OpsRAMS process of preventing mishaps through proactive measures. Among others, AMC recently concluded its second full-scale LOSA on the C-130 fleet and similar to the C-17 analysis, the data provides unique and unbiased insight into the C-130 community analyzed via the Threat and Error Management model. This model conceptualizes operational activity as a series of ongoing threats and errors for which flight crews must maintain adequate margins of safety.
