Summary: | AirTran Airways has provided exceptional low-fare air service at the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (PHF) since 1995. Since that time, the initial Atlanta nonstop service has grown tremendously. AirTran increased flight frequency, deployed larger aircraft with increased seat capacities and added new nonstop direct service to New York (LaGuardia), Boston and Orlando. Air service, however, is not one of them. Thanks to the service provided by AirTran Airways, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines and US Airways, residents of the Peninsula and greater Hampton Roads are able to fly to many nonstop destinations with flight connections to anywhere in the world. Additionally, visitors and residents arriving at PHF can be at home, or their final destination on the Peninsula, in minutes. The convenient location of PHF, combined with low fares, low-cost parking, complimentary shuttle service and free skycap assistance, makes PHF the answer to an air traveler's needs. It will take time for the acquisition of AirTran to be completed, so for now, it is business as usual for the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport and AirTran Airways. Tickets should be purchased for the fall and holiday seasons and beyond without hesitation. The excellent service passengers have become accustomed to on AirTran Airways continues. |
