Summary:Lebanon's Rich Parker, the longtime pro at Carter Golf Club and the head coach of the Dartmouth College men's golf team, is competing in the United States Golf Association Senior Open this week at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash., east of Seattle. Parker had to wait until the absolute end of Friday's second round -- which was delayed by fog for more than two hours in the morning and didn't finish until near sunset -- before learning he'd achieved his goal of making the cut at the national championship for age 50-and-over golfers. What looked like a down day finally went his way when the cut line drifted back to 10 over par, a stroke past Parker's 9-over 149 through 36 holes. Paired with first-round leader Bruce Vaughan (who followed an opening 66 with a second-round 82 on Friday), Parker produced a 6-over 76 in yesterday's third round and is tied for 58th place at 15-over 225. Parker will play today's final round with fellow American James Mason, starting at 7:25 a.m. Pacific time.
