A treasure in the oak tree
Bill leaned close and played a flashlight beam over the checkered breast, and the rainbow hues of copper, rust, green and royal blue. During those years I identified hundreds of Wood Duck hens-perched on nest boxes, sitting in the shadows of cypress swamps, and swimming with squads of baby Woodies.
