Summary:He also agreed with [Billie Odum], [LaJuana Courlas] and [John Dahl] that "there is no way for this court to properly count or recount the votes cast," and that "it is impossible to determine which mayoral candidate received the requisite plurality of lawful votes cast." In addition, S nchez ruled that Odum, the only contestant to hire legal representation, is awarded her costs and fees incurred in the trial, and that the award will run against Neva Hascall, who was originally named as the defendant, and against the Village of Eagle Nest, which intervened to combine Odum's case with the one filed by Courlas and Dahl against Hascall and Councilor Richard Crdova. Odum lost the March mayoral election to Hascall by a two-vote margin, 48-46, while Dahl came in at 38. Courlas received 49 votes for one of the two councilor positions, behind Crdova's 80, Forrest Thompson's 73 and Frank Schmidt's 54.
