Summary: | Despite being well entrenched at the bottom of the scorecard, [Miguel Angel Jimenez] continued to entertain the fans who turned up in their thousands yet again. On the driving range before play began, he performed a series of warm-up exercises, directed by his caddie, Paul Smith (not related to the clothes designer, as much as we are aware), that were straight out of the book Stretching for Smokers. Doing a side stretch with a cheroot dangling from one's lips is not something usually seen in the Virgin Active on a Friday morning. Jimenez also enhanced his reputation when, after he had shot six on the par-three 16th on Thursday, he counted to six in Spanish, smiled, and told all he would be looking for a four on the 17th. |
