Summary: | There have suggestions here that Switzerland may have been forewarned of the secret transactions. But Finance Minister Otto Stich said in Parliament today that the Swiss Government ''was never informed.'' A Swiss Government spokesman, Achille Casanova, said at a news conference in Bern that the Justice Department, in a preliminary notification, said it would request help ''in tracing payments through Swiss accounts,'' as well as ''preventive measures'' by Switzerland to avoid the loss of bank records relating to the payments. Finance Minister Stich, responding to questioning in Parliament, said, ''Bank secrecy is not absolute.'' |
