Summary: | The players went back to the school after lunch to wait for the team bus, which didn't show on time. Patriots coach Alisha DeLorenzo called the school's athletic trainer, who was at the Wayne Hills- Passaic County Tech baseball game. The trainer sent the baseball team's bus to the school to take the softball team to its game. The bus pulled up at the field just in time ... for the rain. Dana Wetzel was 2-for-4 in Thursday's 5-0 win over Hawthorne, spraying a double and a triple. Against Lodi on Tuesday, she also drilled a triple. In 16 at-bats, she has seven hits for a .438 batting average. Wetzel has driven in four runs, has an on-base percentage of .412, and has scored four times. Junior right fielder Lauren Szwech is just as warm. Szwech is hitting .462 with six RBI and a .643 on base-percentage. She hit .469 a year ago, but had only 32 at-bats. In 96 at-bats, Wetzel hit .302. |
