Summary:With a few snippets of lyrics in mind, I bashed out some basic chords and sang a custom-made, improvised love song to my daughter, son and wife. As I went around the table, they each greeted me with a look of surprise and horror, as if some alien being had temporarily inhabited my body. They squinted and leaned forward, looking closely to be sure it was really me singing these songs. I responded by turning a bright shade of red and developing a sudden case of cotton mouth. I felt like a comedian delivering a punch line that the audience didn't understand. I was bombing!
