Blow out your breath. Look at that nasty, filthy brown nicotine stain on the cloth. Your lungs, when you breathe, keep you alive. Her dad, Michael, was injured in last October's tornadoes and died in January. Maria is an eighth-grader at St. Matthew's School, South Bend. Soon, she will be a happy freshman at Marian High School. Despite the grief of losing a loving father, Maria has kept her focus on life and continues to help others.
