Summary:Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said Thursday that he plans to seek an indictment today against Gregory Lawler, accused of killing an Atlanta police officer last month and critically wounding another. Howard will ask the grand jury to indict Lawler, 45, on several charges, including murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of an explosive device. Lawler is charged with shooting officers Richard Sowa and Patricia Cocciolone as they responded to a domestic call Oct. 12 at Lawler's Buckhead apartment. Sowa, 28, was killed. Cocciolone, 38, was critically injured and still is recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital from multiple gunshot wounds to her head, arm, pelvis and torso.
